You Shall Not Steal

Hi there!

Today we’re on the 8th commandment that was written on tablets of stone by God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai.

The 8th commandment is “You shall not steal.” Exodus 20:15

This commandment is very plain and easily understood. Just imagine if everyone obeyed this commandment. We would be living in a different world, free of concern that someone will break into our homes or take something we value.

How wonderful it would be to live in a world where everyone obeys God and lives life His way!

God gives us commandments for our benefit so that we have boundaries in life to spare us pain and trouble. He’s not trying to take away our fun and joy. His will for us is to live a blessed life, full of joy unspeakable and full of glory!

There is no greater joy or blessing than obeying God and living in His glorious presence forevermore, and no one and nothing is worth trading that for.

I hope you take a few moments to check out my sculptures of Moses and the Ten Commandments on this page!

Blessings,

Sherry

You Shall Not Commit Adultery

Hello!

Today we’re on the 7th commandment that was written on tablets of stone by God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai.

The 7th commandment is “You shall not commit adultery.” Exodus 20:14

God commands those who are married to be faithful to one another in every way. Most people know what adultery is, and unfortunately millions of people have suffered a lot of pain and heartache from unfaithfulness.

According to dictionary.com, the word adultery is derives from a French word, avoutre, which in turn evolved from a distinct Latin verb, adulterare, “to corrupt.” The verb adulterate, “to debase or make impure by adding inferior materials or elements,” stems from the same source.

As always, God’s commandments are for our good, to protect us from defilement, deception, hurt, heartache and pain.

Before you go, please check out my sculptures of Moses and the Ten Commandments on this page!

Blessings,

Sherry

You Shall Not Murder

Hi there!

Today we’ll be talking briefly on the 6th commandment (of the Ten Commandments that were written on tablets of stone by God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai).

The 6th commandment is “You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13

That’s really straightforward, easily enough to understood and should not be confused with killing in wartime battles or accidental death.

God places a high value on human life, and a life should not be taken simply because of selfishness, inconvenience, anger, hate, greed, etc.

Many people think they’ve never broken this commandment, but we can have hate and anger in our hearts that is also wicked just as murder is wicked. God wants us to have a clean heart filled with love, mercy and forgiveness towards others.

Before you go, be sure to check out my sculptures of Moses and the Ten Commandments on this page!

No Idols

Hi,

I hope you’re having a lovely day!

I’m continuing on with a short blurb on the Ten Commandments, and we are at the second commandment, which is found in Exodus 20:4-6.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[c] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

What does this mean?

God commands that we put no one and nothing else in His place. He is God Almighty, and He is the only one we are to bow to as in worship and serve as our Sovereign Lord and Master of all.

Many religions throughout the world have carved images that they bow to and serve as their gods, making them divine and sacred. They are being deceived and will miss eternity in God’s glorious presence if they do not repent.

I pray my Moses sculptures will be something to remind you in your home that God’s commandments are for our benefit, to keep our love and devotion on the ONE who is our source of ALL help. Obeying Him guards us from deception and keeps us safe from the enemy’s snares.

Samson Confronts

Hi,

Samson is another interesting character in the Bible who I’m inspired to create sculptures of. His story can be found in Judges chapters 13-16.

The prophet Samson was born to a woman who was previously barren, and his mother dedicated him from a very young age to serve in the temple.

God intricately planned Samson’s purpose before his birth. God granted this child to be born to confront the Philistines and save the Israelites during that time.

Often, we wonder what our purpose is in this life and have many questions about why certain things have happened to us along our journey. God holds the answers to all of that, and seeking Him and His Word is the way to find His perfect will for our lives.

WE DO HAVE A PURPOSE. Our gifts, talents and abilities were given for special reasons.

I pray you seek Him and find your God-given purpose and fulfill His perfect will for your life.

I hope my Samson sculpture inspires you to know more about this Biblical character. There is so much we can learn from studying the characters in the Scriptures. You’ll see more details on my Samson sculpture by clicking on this page.

Blessings,

Sherry
